Amazing Marilyn Monroe’s Dresses
In China’s Macao, the second annual Julien’s Auction had thousands of buyers from around the world bidding on a rare collection of pop culture memorabilia. The dress Marilyn Monroe wore in the film “River of No Return” fetched a whopping $504 thousand dollars.
The dress, which she donned while crooning “I’m Gonna File My Claim” in the ’50s flick, was sold to a private buyer, Darren Julien, CEO of Julian’s Auctions, announced Saturday.
In June, the simple white halter dress she sported in “The Seven Year Itch” and featured in the famed photos of her standing on a subway grate while the skirt flew up sold for $4.6 million.
